Brownwood, Texas is located near the center of Texas. Brownwood serves as the county seat and is the largest City in Brown County. In recent years Brownwood has exploded with new economic activity and seen an influx of both national chains, including Hobby Lobby, TJ Maxx, Home2Suites, Boot Barn and locally owned businesses. Brownwood is home to a booming medical district brought on in part by the recent purchase of the local hospital by Hendrick Medical Center. The Industrial base is very strong in Brownwood. Many large industries have locations in Brownwood including 3M and Kohler.
